The main focus was creating a landscape of sculptural pieces like in Imi Knoebel’s “Room 19” but where every piece was based on things recognisable to me; elements from playgrounds, skateboard ramps and geometric figures all made in MDF and/or bent masonite board. The choice of material and the fact that that all pieces are made of it, emphasises the shape and size of each piece while the simplicity, uniformity and leathery feel and look of masonite adds a sensation of materiality.
